Scholar Citation Monitor is a Chrome extension that tracks Google Scholar citation changes. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your data.

Data We Collect

We do not collect any personal data. The extension does not send any information to external servers.

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored exclusively on your device using Chrome's built-in local storage:

• Google Scholar author profile URLs you choose to monitor
• Citation counts, paper lists, and change history for those authors
• Your language preference

This data never leaves your browser. No accounts, cookies, or cloud sync are involved.

Network Requests

The extension makes requests only to Google Scholar domains (scholar.google.com, scholar.google.cn, etc.) for the sole purpose of fetching publicly available citation data. No data is transmitted to any other server.

Third-Party Services

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or cloud services.

Permissions

• storage — Save monitored authors and preferences locally
• alarms — Schedule periodic citation checks in the background
• notifications — Show desktop alerts when citations change
• Host permissions (scholar.google.*) — Fetch author profile pages from Google Scholar
